Julia Samoilova:

- Yes, I watched Eurovision on satellite TV - the channel "Belarus 24" broadcast the contest. Of course, it was a little annoying that I was not there, but everything that happens is for the better.

“I really liked the contest itself. All participants were worthy, but the event itself is always some kind of holiday and good mood. To be honest, there were very few memorable songs. But I still remember one song: where the girl sang with an interesting throat sound.

Eurovision 2017: participants, final, who won

For those who missed the famous Eurovision Song Contest 2017, the Let Them Talk program will show all the highlights of the event held in Kyiv:

Eurovision 2017: Yulia Samoilova

On the program, let them talk about one of the main scandalous questions: why was Yulia Samoilova not allowed into Kyiv? It is known that the former Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oksana Bilozir called the Russian participant of Eurovision 2017 "ugliness".

Elena Afanasyeva, program expert, member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation:

We are all responsible for every word we say. I don't want to wish bad things to people, but we must think what we are saying. If this woman really thinks so, then this is a real ugliness that we see now in Ukraine.

On the program you will see opera diva Maria Maksakova, who will get in touch with the studio via teleconference:

- The decision to exclude Yulia Samoilova from the competition is a decision, first of all, of the country's legislation. It is obvious that Yulia broke the law when she performed in the Crimea, and this was precisely the reason for the ban on entry into Ukraine.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 ended in Kyiv last weekend. The competition, which the Russians loved so much, watched it every year, participated, made parties and after the broadcast from different countries. But this time everything went without the participation of Russia. 28-year-old Yulia Samoilova, who could be in Kyiv and conquer the world with her song today in the studio. By a joint decision of Channel One and BTRC, Yulia will represent Russia in Lisbon, Portugal, as this year's winner is a singer from Portugal. Yulia said that she watched the competition on satellite television, on the Belarus-24 channel. “In general, I was there and watched,” the girl says. The young singer admitted that she was offended and annoyed to miss the contest, which was so desired for her. “I really wanted to participate, but everything that is not done is done for the better. The participants were amazing this year. Eurovision is always a holiday, always a great mood, great,” says Yulia.

Andrey Malakhov's colleague, Leonid Borisov, wrote on his Twitter page after the first part of Eurovision that half had passed, but he still did not remember a single song. Julia also admitted that there were few memorable songs. The studio showed the first three winners for those who did not watch Eurovision. The first place was taken by the representative of Portugal Salvador Sabral with a poignant song about love. Second place went to the 17-year-old Bulgarian singer of Russian origin to Christian Kostov with the song "Beautiful Mess". Christian will appear in the Channel One studio today. And the team from Moldova takes the third place, Sun Stroke Project with the incendiary song "Hey Mamma". They are also visiting today on the program "Let them talk."

Vera Dmitrievna, Yulia Samoilova's grandmother, is also present in the studio today. She flew in from Italy and hoped to root for her granddaughter. It’s a shame that it didn’t work out, the woman admits. “It was Yulia's desire, she dreamed about it since childhood and said that she would certainly get to Eurovision. She's not a careerist, she just loves it. For her, it makes no difference on which stage to perform. She just wants to convey to people her heart, her love for the public. I did not expect that my granddaughter could become a victim of political confrontations, especially in the European competition, where everyone is for tolerance and equal rights. Didn't expect it to be like this. I did not think that culture would interfere with politics. This, of course, is wrong, but someone knows better, probably. I was just offended that the Minister of Culture of Ukraine said something that hurt me very much. I will not speak in the studio, this man himself knows exactly what I am talking about. Of course, I don’t wish this person anything bad, maybe someday what we are experiencing now will reach her.”

The words of the Minister of Culture of Ukraine: “Ukraine is a civilized, democratic country, we are spiritually rich and strong, so we will not politicize art. If they are trying to send such ugliness from Russia to Ukraine, then please excuse us, we cannot categorically take any positions.”

“I believe that in relation to people such a term as “ugliness” cannot be applied at all, we are all people, and if God deprived us of something, then he gave us something else in return, for example, Yulia has a wonderful voice,” says a member of the Federation Council RF. For what reason was Yulia Samoilova not allowed to enter the competition? In what language should the Russian representatives of the competition sing? And why did the appearance of the former State Duma deputy Maria Maksakova in the hall at the second semi-final of the competition caused such a stir?

In this studio, they discuss stories about which it is impossible to remain silent: bringing up a particular problem for discussion individual person, a separate family, we are talking about what worries everyone without exception.
