During the winter holidays, from January 2 to 8, city museums, exhibition halls and estates will open their doors to everyone.

Free admission will be valid for all categories of visitors. Pre-registration is not required. At the same time, the museums have prepared and New Year's program for your guests.

Thus, visitors to the Museum of Moscow will be able to take part in the interactive quest “How Muscovites New Year met." They have to find old Christmas decorations, answer quiz questions and decorate Christmas tree treasures found. Quests will take place during the day, the main thing is that several people come together at the same time.

On all days of the New Year holidays in the Moscow estate of Father Frost will be held holiday festivities. Guests are waiting exciting games on fresh air in the company of Santa Claus's helpers, favorite cartoons on the big screen and a disco. Together with Santa Claus, guests will be able to watch neon show. can be seen from 1 to 7 January at 18:00.

A historical reenactment dedicated to the end of the Patriotic War of 1812 will take place at the Battle of Borodino Panorama Museum on January 7 at 12:00. On the site of the museum will be held solemn ceremony, as well as laying flowers at the monument to Mikhail Kutuzov with the participation of clubs of military-historical reconstruction.

The main expositions of city museums during the New Year holidays will be free, but some events may remain paid. Details need to be clarified in the museums themselves.

In addition to major exhibition complexes, citizens will be able to visit small museum expositions. For example, the memorial museum in the House of N.V. Gogol or the museum "Submarine" in the park "Northern Tushino".

“This action is held annually in the capital. Free days in museums - a great chance to get to permanent and temporary exhibitions, learn more about the history of the city and the country, see the works contemporary artists and classics,” the press service of the Department of Culture said.

This year, Muscovites and guests of the city are welcomed at 40 museum sites. For those who are interested in the history of the capital, the Garden Ring and House on the Embankment museums, as well as the Moscow Defense Museum, will be open. In addition, once a month you can get free access to the museums of Mikhail Bulgakov, Marina Tsvetaeva or the Alexander Scriabin Memorial Museum. For the first time this year, the Kovcheg exhibition hall also participates in the action.
