Born in the village of Komsomolsky, Aleksandrovsky district, Orenburg region. When Ilshat was 2 years old, his family moved to Orenburg. Started dancing at early childhood, from the age of four. Like many children, Ilshat did not immediately like dancing, and at first his mother had to introduce a system of rewarding the young dancer with confectionery for attending training.

Ilshat received offers to move to the USA to work and develop his talent, but he refused, preferring to work in his homeland.
Carier start
After graduating from the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography, having passed a tough selection, Ilshat worked for a year in the legendary ensemble of Igor Moiseev, studied at the school modern dance Alexandra Shishkina.
Ilshat is an artist in musicals, where he manifests himself in three roles at once: as an actor, dancer and singer. The first musical in which he took part was the famous “Notre Dame de Paris”. To do this, he had to go through three stages of casting, which lasted a whole year.
In 2003, the dancer worked as a choreographer with the singer, participant of “Star Factory-2” Irakli, touring with him around the country. Also as a choreographer he worked with such performers as Alsou, Vlad Topalov, Sergey Lazarev and others.
In 2006, he worked under a contract in Israel - he danced in grand show"One" by the famous Israeli singer Rita. He also worked under contract in China.
After this, Shabaev again actively works in musicals. In 2010-2012, he played in two productions, directed by Yegor Druzhinin. It's about about the musicals “Love and Espionage” (based on the play “Eyes of the Day” by E. Gremina) starring Larisa Dolina and Dmitry Kharatyan and “I am Edmond Dantes” (based on the novel “The Count of Monte Cristo” by A. Dumas), in in which the main roles were played by Dmitry Pevtsov and Natalia Vlasova.
Next in 2013 was the famous musical “Chicago”, which was staged on Broadway more than once. According to the choreographer, it was in this musical that he gained the most experience. There he mastered such a genre as “Fosse”.
In the summer of 2014, Ilshat played the role of Gopchik in the musical “Once Upon a Time in Odessa,” based on the popular series of the same name.
Ilshat also took part in such musicals as “Bombay Dreams”, “Cats”.
Dance floor
In 2005, Ilshat won the first season dance project"Dancefloor Star" on MTV. This was the first large-scale dance show in Russia, an analogue of “The Wade Robson Show”. More than 3.5 thousand dancers from all over the country came to the castings, only 80 were selected! For winning, they were promised a car and a trip to Los Angeles to the famous choreographer Wade Robson. According to Ilshat himself, the “Dance Floor Star” project became a huge experience for him, an internal struggle with himself, he learned to concentrate and never imagined that he could win. After the end of the project, Ilshat wrote and sang, together with Teona Dolnikova, the anthem for “Dance Floor Stars-2”. After this, Shabaev began teaching at the Moscow dance school Mainstream.
"Dancing" on TNT
In the fall of 2014, a new dance show was launched on the TNT channel - the “Dancing” project, which “gave a chance to everyone who loves to move and dance, to try their hand and demonstrate their feelings.”
More than 280 dancers from 77 Russian cities took part in this television project. Casting began in April 2014. The main prizes of the TV show - title best dancer countries and 3 million rubles.
At a television casting in Moscow, Ilshat presented a dance in the style of modern choreography to the Lana Del Rey track “Young & Beautiful,” which amazed the judges. Choreographer, director and actor Yegor Druzhinin became Ilshat’s mentor.
During 10 competitions, Ilshat danced 10 dances in a duet and one solo.
On December 31, 2014, the final of the “Dancing” show took place on the TNT channel. The winner was determined by the audience by voting. Ilshat became the best dancer in the country, Vitaly Savchenko took second place, Adam third, Alisa Dotsenko fourth.
Tour
After the completion of the project, Ilshat, along with other main participants in the first season of “Dancing,” took part in a spring-summer tour called “The First Club Concert.” As part of the tour, the dancers gave concerts in 15 cities of Russia, giving concerts almost every day.

Ilshat gave master classes even before the “Dancing” project on TNT, but he began actively sharing his experience precisely after the end of the project.

On May 26, 2015, Ilshat opened his own dance studio “7U8” in Moscow. Hello, Ilshat! Tell us, what is life like after “Dancing on TNT”?
- Very interesting: it’s seething and there’s practically no time to rest. This whole year was spent working and traveling: planes, trains, buses, cities, master classes, concerts, sleepless nights, and, most importantly, emotions. The emotions that the audience gives us when they come to our concerts. Endless energy that inspires us, and it’s incredibly nice. Thanks to everyone who comes to our concerts and master classes, to everyone who is inspired by us and starts dancing.
- Did you expect your life to change so much after the project?
- No! I definitely didn’t expect this when I went to the casting. I never thought that the project would become so popular. None of us expected this.
- Are you following the second season of the show “DANCE” and do you have any favorites?
- I’m keeping an eye on it, but I haven’t identified a clear favorite yet. I carefully watch all the participants, everything that happens. The DANCE project is a competition where participants are given choreography of various dance styles that they have not encountered before. And when you see that a professional dancer of one direction is faced with choreography that is not close to him - it’s obvious, but someone copes to a greater extent, someone in less. Therefore, there are no clear favorites.
- Is it your long-time dream to open your own dance school?
- Everything happened spontaneously. This idea appeared immediately after the project.
- Many people wonder why the dance studio is called 7U8?
“A lot in my life is connected with these numbers. At the “DANCES” project I represented the city of Orenburg, and the city region “56”. It sounds like multiplying 7U8 = 56. Also, 7 and 8 are a dance count; before starting any choreography they say: “7-8.” The third reason, 78 is the year of my birth. 7th mine Favorite number, and on the 8th I was born. Well, I liked the very turn “7U8”.
- What are your plans for the future regarding the development of the dance studio?
- There are many plans. We want to collaborate with famous Russian choreographers such as Vova Gudym, Katya Serzhenko, Dasha Salei, Alexey Shalburov, Alexander Mogilev, and also invite foreign choreographers such as Chaz Buzan - I really like his choreography. We will hold a casting for teachers. We plan to open groups for new popular dance styles, as well as develop those areas that are already represented in our studio. We will also organize dance camps. We are planning to open children's groups. Of course, I would like to focus on “contempo” and develop it to the European level. I would like to create my own atmosphere in the studio, so that the guys enjoy spending time here, so that everyone discovers something new here. I am ready to share my experience, my creativity, and I myself would be happy to learn from many.
-You have a very busy schedule, but what about your personal life?
- The girl is still patient and understands. Distances, separations, we don’t see each other. It's very hard... you just have to endure this busy schedule. I think by spring it will become easier, there will be more free time for yourself, creative development and to your personal life. Starts in March new project"DANCE 2", we will tour cities. I hope everything will be much more harmonious with my personal life. I already want to stop, continue my vocal training, record new tracks, shoot new dance videos. I want to get more involved in hip-hop, popping, and dancehall.
