Where to go to study after art school. Where can you go to study after graduation?

With enviable frequency, people ask me what university I graduated from and where I would recommend enrolling. And also, isn’t it too late to start at 23 years old (30, 40 and beyond with variations:)? So here is my public answer :)

First I'll just answer the question. And, by the way, I immediately ask you to forgive me if my post seems to someone like a pretentious speech or, God forbid, “memoirs of a pro,” this is just my experience and my conclusions from it. If I had read this message myself, as a student, probably, firstly, I would have stopped rushing around (which university is the best?), and secondly, I would have sighed sadly (nothing new, diligence and work will grind everything down)But first things first:)

I'm done MPGU named after. Lenin Art and Graphic Faculty.
I do not recommend this university, and I do not consider it the worst place to learn drawing.Throughout the entire time I studied there, I always wanted to leave and go somewhere else. It seemed to me that we were being taught poorly, although I myself systematically and mercilessly skipped part of the classes :) We were not taught what we needed modern artist, and I think, to the modern educator too. All knowledge was outdated. And even relatively new disciplines (computer graphics), however, were absolutely not useful. Photoshop would be much more useful. But we were taught, it seems, the Paint program.

But nevertheless, if desired, there will always be at least one teacher who will inspire by his example. And even one person can set it in the right way. For me, this person was my drawing teacher - Boris Vasilievich Lushnikov. B.V. He always spoke quietly, tediously and for a long time. He no longer praised the drawings, but some of my finds and my diligence. In general, at first he seemed more of a funny person to me.

But one day he ticked one of my sketches and told me why he liked it. Then he began to mark portraits and eventually noticed something “like that” about me. It just inspired me! To be honest, the other teachers didn’t make much of an impression on me, but I showed Boris Vasilich my works (and paintings too) all the time. She just brought folders and we discussed them for a long time in the corridor. I continued to visit him even after graduating from university.

After finishing the art course, my folder contained a bunch of portraits of our models (a rower, a swimmer, a guy Philip and many other strange characters). I only learned the word “portfolio” when I set out to get a job as an artist in a publishing house. And I immediately realized that I didn’t have any “portfolio”. They looked at my works without obvious pleasure and returned them with the words - go and study some more. And I was depressed.
I tried to submit my work to the vernissage on Krymsky Val and was told that this was amateurism. Just for fun, this was the work.
Frankly speaking, there was no such job - “artist”. Therefore, I got a job in a related profession, as it seemed to me. Interior designer. Then I tried printing. I drew for websites, packaging, postcards... At the same time I studied Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Archicad and a bunch of other programs that no one needed for a long time)

And I also regularly felt: yes, I know what a shadow-penumbra-reflex is; I know how the colors are arranged on color wheel; I know what glazing is and I love it when the canvas rings under the elastic brush of bristles. But all this knowledge was somewhere in parallel with what needed to be done in reality. And I really didn't like it. I came home from work and realized that I no longer had the strength to be creative. This was the most difficult period.

What am I talking about? Moreover, often, if not always, you will have to learn on your own. Yes, you can gain useful knowledge at an art university. You will hone your skills and get used to drawing “realistically” without mistakes. Personally, without these 5 years it would be extremely difficult for me. I believe that classical school needed. And in principle, it probably doesn’t matter where you get this basic knowledge. But they must be.

For me, I remember, something just switched. And it’s funny that one of the guys in our hostel (who graduated from the Mari art school, traditionally strong) he told me exactly that. "You draw, and then something will switch. You will notice."

And suddenly I realized that now I see. I see errors of perspective, I see that something is wrong. I stopped looking at someone’s work and thinking that it’s good because “it’s so beautiful here.” blue sky". That I see it entirely. And even if you copy 100% of the same sky into your work, it won’t shoot the same way. I didn’t have to ask the teacher: “Please look, how’s it going?” (in the hope of getting approval)
In general, I suddenly realized that the thinking and observation process should take a very large dose of time. Hundreds of sharpened pencils, a tuned eye and damaged sheets, and I allowed myself to rise to a higher level. I realized that there are things that are good. That I'm not embarrassed to show them anymore. And this happened about 5 years after graduating from Moscow State Pedagogical University. By the way, it was at this time that someone began to consider me “arrogant” and immodest. For some reason, it is believed that a decent artist should not know his own worth. He must be modest and poor. But that's okay, I digress :)

Thus, even after studying at a university, you will have to study again. But this is a different way. Very interesting and educational. And here only your observation, patience, and courage will help you.

  • Take master classes from people who inspire you.

  • Try making copies of what you like.

  • Don't be afraid to try and make mistakes. Throw out the sheets and start again.

  • Be honest with yourself.

  • Feel free to draw on the street, feel free to draw in the subway.

  • Just surrender to this process and constantly feed your inspiration. Magazines, websites, live communication, visiting exhibitions. Everyone has something of their own.

Yes, and isn't it too late to start now?I think that it’s probably only late in professional sports, but yes, it’s not too late, of course. To no one, never and nowhere.

But, you know what? To make this post useful and informative, I propose to tell the artists about your education in this order:
1. The name of your university and general impressions about it.
2. Do you consider the knowledge gained there to be comprehensive and suitable for further work?
3. Looking back, would you have changed your course of action? art education? Would you change anything?

Hey, hello everyone! Roman is in touch again and today I would like to talk about what exist professions in which drawing skills will be useful to you in order to plunge headlong into this world of creativity.

I was prompted to write this post by the fact that I myself came to the idea, like: “I can draw and be a creative person,” through a “back door,” i.e. without drawing.

Here is how it was...

At the beginning of 2014, I had just returned from the army and decided that I wanted to make my own website with blackjack and... well, in general, I wanted to learn how to draw through the lessons that I translated and published on it.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, my idea was not crowned with success and I was once again disappointed in the dream of becoming cool artist and draw popular art. And then, firstly, I wanted to prove to myself that I could earn money and exist by doing creative activities, and secondly, I thought that I could still enter the “drawing” industry, but not from the front door, but from the back door.

And my decision was to get a job somewhere as a designer, fortunately I knew Photoshop well, and with Corel Draw learned to work in the army. And I got a job at a book publishing house, a place where there was “its own atmosphere” and... I liked it.

Thus, I “designed” until I again felt the urge to draw and began to engage in this business with new strength.

What do I want to say with this story? If you want to learn how to draw, become a comic artist, paint pictures, or much more, but trying to get through it head-on doesn’t work, then try to work in this field in the position you can. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere, get to know creative people, cultivate new skills, and do what you love.

There are assistants, editors, layout designers, gallery owners, animators and many other specialties that will help you: firstly, gain experience, secondly, immerse yourself in the “world” of your goal, thirdly, meet new people who will always help you if you have similar goals.

Hmm, and now directly to the professions themselves.

Skill level - beginner

Skill level - intermediate

Skill level - high

Skill level - beginner

Let's start with those in which, in my opinion, drawing is not particularly necessary, but if you have basic skills and are drawn to creativity and creativity, then there you can grab your share of the glory.

Gallery owner- is an expert in the field of fine arts, a profession for those who may not particularly like to draw, but really love art. He knows a lot about styles, authors, eras, knows how to distinguish an original from a copy, a masterpiece from a shoddy work. The gallery owner can easily organize an exhibition of any level, invite celebrities there and knows how to convince people to buy the works put up for sale. First of all, this is a person who appreciates art, and not who produces it.

You can study for this specialty in almost every university where there is a department of cultural studies or art history. But the most prestigious and respected are:

  • Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (RAZHVIZ).
  • Moscow State University (MSU).
  • Institute of Cultural History (former UNIK).
  • MGUKI.

Designer (graphic)- V modern society a person who is fluent in graphic packages, capable of making high-quality advertising material, assembling a collage, preparing printed products for printing, and knowing the laws of color, composition and behavioral factors. Someone might say: “How is it that a designer is not obliged to draw? I have to!”, no, my dears, I myself worked as a designer and... there is no smell of drawing there. The skill of high-quality collage is highly valued; everything is taken from Google or stocks, then arranged into several layouts, from which the customer approves something and it is further refined.

You can study this specialty in many universities, but in fact, most designers do not have the appropriate education. They collected their portfolio using lessons on the Internet, applied for a job, and there they are already gaining real skills. However, I’m talking about the majority; top designers are high-class people with specialist diplomas.

In addition to a graphic designer, in nature there are also landscape designers and interior designers, who also do not particularly need drawing skills for their work, but rather the skills of working with 3D graphics editors.

3D Modeler is a sought-after and rapidly growing specialty in a modern society. The modeler creates three-dimensional models of almost everything you can imagine in your head: from buildings, equipment and people, to magical and fairy-tale animals, phenomena and measurements. Most modern games use 3D graphics; modelers create entire worlds in which we love to immerse ourselves. Also 3D graphics used in most modern films.

This is a general name for the profession since it contains many specialties divided by goals: landscape modeler, character modeler, vehicle modeler, etc.

Officially, these professions are taught:

  1. Good material on this topic: link

Skill level - intermediate

Calligrapher- a person with skill nice letter. It may seem that this is not such a “prestigious” profession, but people who can, with virtually no tools, beautifully depict words are highly valued. And besides, calligraphy skills can be used in combination with computer programs and... well, that’s how much popular brands pay to have their name written not in Arial, but in a beautiful and unique font. And who in the 21st century does fonts - calligraphers... modern calligraphers.

In universities, calligraphy is taught in the specialty of graphic design, but at the first request, the search engine gives many options where you can study online, both paid and free.

Design engineer- a specialty aimed at creating drawings of objects. When designing, their drawing skill is needed like nowhere else, but there is no need to learn all possible drawing laws. A specialist of this profile must have a good imagination, create not “dry” drawings, but translate his ideas into clear, practical diagrams that will please the eye.

Cartoonist is an artist specializing in drawing funny and parody portraits, ironically or sarcasticly depicting various events that have caused resonance in society. Yes, you yourself have probably seen more than once how artists sit in squares and parks and draw funny cartoons for little money. There are many cartoonists, but in order to make enough money from this you need to become popular and famous, so that your fame would thunder in all sources, etc.

Universities do not teach this as a specialty, but online you can find quite a few lessons and courses on mastering this skill, but still, the main thing here is your desire and perseverance.

Fashion designer- on the one hand, this is a person involved in creating sketches new clothes, he comes up with new outfits and even entire collections of clothes, but the range of activities of the fashion designer also includes creating a new clothing concept in the form of sketches, searching for a design solution for the conceived model, developing samples of new models and preparing them for industrial production, organization of fashion shows. In general, a lot of things. The profession is very exciting and creative.

  1. Actually a very good article on this topic. Here.

Contourer (aka Inker)- one of two artist professions required to create comics. The contour designer processes the images transmitted to him by drawing lines, outlining pencil drawing, corrects minor flaws using either mascara or (if working on a computer) dark colors brushes The outliner processes all the lines of the drawing except the text. The profession is not considered entirely creative, but rather technological.

Unfortunately, I did not find a place where they taught, or in any case, this would be a discipline of one of the specialties.

  1. Useful Wikipedia article

Skill level is high.

Here you will draw every single day... unfortunately, or fortunately;)

Illustrator is a specialist who creates paintings that convey the meaning of the text. Illustrators can work on books, newspapers, magazines, leaflets, and anywhere else where a “message” needs to be conveyed. You can hear from many already established illustrators that this profession is difficult, competitive and not very well paid (maybe they are lying, who knows...). But the majority choose this profession because they like to draw, and not for the thirst for profit.

I don’t even know what to say on the topic of what needs to be done “to become good illustrator"...probably work like hell :)

They teach how to become an illustrator both in many universities and on the Internet. great amount courses and training materials. Google to the rescue!

Graphic artist- a specialist who works only in one contrasting color and, as a rule, this color is black. The graphic artist uses mostly ink or pencil for his work. Just like an illustrator, a graphic artist is a professional for illustrating books; he can work with fonts and text of a book. Working in a publishing house, a graphic designer usually deals with everything related to graphics, he is a designer, a layout designer, and an illustrator... the main thing is that it all pays well :)

Where can you study for the specialty “Graphics”:

  • Moscow State University of Printing Arts. Ivan Fedorov
  • Russian State Specialized Academy of Arts

Artist-painter- a specialist who creates paintings from life. A painter can paint portraits, buildings, nature, and in general, whatever he sees, he will paint. In my opinion (and this is pure IMHO), all artists owe it to painters for the glory of eternally hungry, but creative individuals. In modern society, painting is valued only by, excuse the pun, connoisseurs. People who can afford it tend to buy paintings, rather than those who would like to. beautiful picture cheerful in the hallway... there are printers for that :) Painting is not a profession, not a job, it is a calling.

  • Moscow State Academic art institute them. IN AND. Surikov
  • Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture by Ilya Glazunov
  • All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov
  • State Academy Slavic culture

Copy artist- a specialist who creates copies of paintings. Copyists in Lately enjoy in great demand, because many people want to see Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” on their wall, but not everyone is able to pay for it, and the work of a copyist may not be the cheapest, but it is certainly cheaper than buying the original. There is very little information about this profession on the Internet, but we can say that this is one of the varieties of artist-painter.

Restoration artist- a specialist who restores damaged paintings. Restorers can work in various techniques and with various materials, from paintings to icons. Since works of art do not last forever, and sometimes are stored in not the most appropriate conditions, the specialty of a restorer is in quite high demand, but such a specialist is also in great demand.

The responsibilities of a restorer include not only “drawing,” but also a thorough and comprehensive study of the restoration object, development of restoration techniques, selection of materials, and documentation during restoration work.

Portrait artist- a specialist who creates paintings with portraits of people. I already mentioned earlier that a painter can draw portraits, but he, as they say, “does little of everything and nothing properly,” while a portrait painter devotes himself entirely to drawing portraits and achieves in this high skill.

One does not train to become a portrait painter, but learns; everyone learns this art themselves by trial and error.

Cartoonist, animator- specialist responsible for creating animated films and cartoons. Animator is a general name for the activity of a specialist in creating cartoons; animators themselves are divided into:

  • Phase artist (storyboard artist) - draws phases between various states of scenes and cartoon characters.
  • Character Artist - creates unique image cartoon character and accompanies the further development and use of this character in animation.
  • Production designer - main artist in production animated film, determines general style future work and exercises control over its production.
  • Graphic artist - creates clean frames for final use in the film based on existing developments.

There is also another: contour artist, background artist.

  1. Again, useful and detailed material

Colorist- one of two artist professions required to create comics. The colorist is responsible for adding color to black and white picture. Before the advent of software graphics packages, colorists painted comics, cartoons, films, and advertisements by hand using traditional means. visual arts. With the advent of powerful computers and programs, this profession gradually began to be associated with computer image processing.

There is no separate training to become a colorist; this knowledge is either taught as a standard discipline in most specialties or is studied independently in the process of use various instruments, of which there are now a great many.

  1. Useful Wikipedia article

Comic artist- a specialist who creates comics. I have already mentioned two professions that are aimed at creating comics; a “comics artist” combines not only an inker and a colorist, but also a screenwriter, director, director and many other specialties that may be useful to him when creating a comic.

As such, the profession of comics artist has not yet been formed in Russia, and there are people who draw comics, make money from it, and it becomes their life’s work, but no one has a special education as a “Comics Artist.” To be honest, I don’t know if there are such certified specialists in the West, but the fact that anyone can become a comics artist is an unambiguous fact. The main thing here is not to learn how to draw, but to learn how to present your story in a way that readers would like.

Well, in general, this entire blog is built around mastering - this is a profession, so don’t forget to subscribe to updates and learn with me :)

Game artist- This general concept uniting a large number of specialties related to the creation of digital graphics and their use in game production. Gaming industry in last years is rapidly gaining momentum in terms of the number of games produced per year, this includes all mobile games and games in social networks.

Specialty "game artist" (character artists, concept artists, game designers, artists environment, visual effects artists, etc.) are in great demand among younger generation worldwide.

You can train to become a “game artist” at:

  • Center computer graphics Render.ru
  • Distance learning center Render.ru
  • Moscow State University of Design and Technology
  • Computer graphics school Scream school
  • Game design course RealTime /school/

Phew! That's probably all I would like to cover in this article. Of course, behind the scenes (in drafts) there are still about a dozen professions and specialties that are somehow related to drawing and graphics production, but... not this time, and it turned out to be a bit long.

By the way, if thanks to this list you have decided on your future profession and decided where you will go, then there is a service especially for students that does their work for students. Check it out and use it for your health, “get an education” XD

Listen, if you think that I forgot something, maybe some cool specialty or profession, write about it in the comments so that I can add it to the article... let's make a HUGE directory of professions together :)

That's all for today, creative mood to all, friends!

Art higher education institutions in Moscow have always held a special place. Political changes and economic turmoil in the country do not make the competition any less: the love of art overcomes any thoughts about daily bread and financial gain. And this despite the fact that only a few graduates manage to establish themselves professionally, find success, and with it prosperity. However, the fact remains: there are usually half as many free places in such universities as there are people willing to take them.

Talents and fans

As in the case of theater universities, when entering an art school, they will look for the presence of a certain spark in an applicant, which is usually called talent. Indeed, everyone can hold a pencil or brush in their hands, but only one person out of a hundred or a thousand can create something unique.

Give absolutely precise definition the concept of “talent” is not possible: in art everything is too subjective. Unfortunately, any creative profession depends entirely on the opinions of viewers and critics. That is why many experts advise: before crossing the threshold of an art university, you should think about whether you can conduct long years your life in obscurity, bitterly regretting that your work never made the proper impression on the public. After all, the whole play of colors, the clarity of lines, consistency of style in work of art are created with only one single purpose - to shake the world and express yourself.

The professional prospects of future artists, designers, and architects are quite illusory. The cost of their work can vary greatly - everything will depend on the capricious and fickle luck fairy. Efficiency, ability to find mutual language With the customer today, professional qualities are no less important.

Preparing for admission to an art university

The list of art universities in the capital is not very large, but getting an education within their walls is considered prestigious all over the world. The high level of teaching in them was set by the founding fathers of these educational institutions. These include the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, Moscow Art and Industrial University named after. S. G. Stroganova, Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, All-Russian state institute Cinematography named after. S. A. Gerasimova and the art and graphic faculty of the Moscow Pedagogical state university. It is imperative to mention the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after. I. E. Repin - this university, which has centuries-old traditions, was founded in mid-18th century century under the patronage of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. According to the Charter in force at that time, they studied there for 15 years. Today, the official period for obtaining an education has been shortened, but in order to become a student, an applicant will literally have to spend years preparing for admission.

Each of the listed universities has its own art school or preparatory courses. Training and preparation in them takes from several months to two years. It is worth mentioning, however, that officially no one gives their graduate guarantees of admission. Moreover, at the preparatory courses at the Surikov Institute, teachers bluntly warn that they will not have to wait for any concessions to “their own” in the exams - everyone enters on a general basis. Preparatory classes, as a rule, are paid, not to mention the fact that the applicant has to provide himself with auxiliary materials - paints, brushes, pencils, papers, stretchers, canvases... The price can be different: for a tube of paint, for example, from 10 to 1000 rub. And the subframe costs at least 2000 rubles.

In addition, when entering an art university, it is very important to take into account one subtlety: when analyzing applications, the greatest preference is given to those applicants who either graduated from specialized art schools (for example, Children's Art School No. 1 named after V. A. Serov on Prechistenka, Moscow Academic art lyceum Russian Academy arts), or have a secondary education professional education in art schools (Moscow State Academic Art School in Memory of 1905 or Moscow Art School (college) applied arts). This is done because this kind of higher education does not tolerate random people who suddenly have the desire to be artists, restorers or architects. The competition between applicants is quite tough, and the best of the best must be accepted, so it is necessary to make plans for admission in advance, taking into account your own capabilities.

Specialty exams

First, you should decide in which direction you would like to apply your creative impulses. The profession of an artist has several varieties, for example, painter, restorer, theater artist. The number of specialties that can be obtained at an art university includes such as sculptor, architect, art critic, painting teacher, feature film artist, film costume designer, animation film and computer graphics artist. And the first thing you will be asked to do upon admission is to provide a preview creative works in accordance with the chosen path. As a rule, these are drawings: a portrait and a human figure, painting - a portrait with hands, compositions. Those who pass this selection are allowed to entrance examinations. Examinations in the specialty are held in workshops (with the participation of sitters) over several days. Special items include:

  • drawing (two tasks): portrait and standing nude figure (on paper with graphite pencil); the paper is issued directly on the spot or the applicant uses his own, marked with a seal admissions committee;
  • painting: one portrait with the hands of a seated sitter (on canvas oil paints or tempera, gouache, watercolor - upon admission to the Faculty of Graphics); the applicant must bring with him a canvas measuring up to 70 cm on the larger side;
  • composition: work on a given topic can be in any technique.

Then the examination papers are reviewed and grades are assigned. If the number of points scored is enough to pass the competition, then you will be asked to write an essay on a given topic, history (orally), history of Russian artistic culture and in some cases - foreign language. If you still fail to enroll in a full-time department, paid departments are at your service, the average cost of study at which sometimes reaches $4,500-5,000.

Discussion

"..love of art overcomes any thoughts about daily bread and financial gain."
This phrase is irritating.
For a person art lover, no financial difficulties matter.
Remember Van Gogh.
He sold only one painting in his entire life.

I understand that in the capital they don’t really like provincials, but after 11th grade, where is it better to go? if I just graduated from art school. We did not paint in oils or the nude figure. The maximum is plaster heads Antinous, Venus, etc. and hyp. figures. You need to go to some technical school or college first, right? What if they taught me how to draw other things? And is it even possible to do this?
I prefer about St. Petersburg.
Thank you for your attention.

I'm going to enter Surikovsky next year. I'm interested in the dormitory. Living conditions, cost of living. Thank you.

I study at a provincial university at the Faculty of Fine Arts. I would really like to communicate with students of the capital’s art universities

09/15/2008 19:17:58, Sandra

Yeah...Interesting...I'll say one thing - If you really have a desire, everything will be OK!!! Do it!!!

09/14/2008 11:17:22, Yolia

There is a feeling that the author is trying with all his might to discourage the desire to enter an art university - oh, how bad, hard, hopeless everything is, almost a path to the bottom of life! It is because of such advisers that talented guys become managers and economists, and then spend their whole lives dragging their feet, cursing fate.

After 9th grade I'm going to go to art college. After that will it be easier to go to college?

02.08.2008 12:25:42, Maria

Hello! I would like to know if it is possible for citizens of other countries to enter art universities in Russia. There are no advantages for them when entering, i.e. at least an exception in time. If you find an opportunity to study now, you can study at the beginning of September or at the end of August. Please, if you can answer?

The artist paints not what he sees, but what he feels.

Pablo Picasso

There is an opinion that the artist is the brush of the Creator. That is, the talent of a painter is a gift from God, who guides the artist’s hand, painting. Perhaps this is true! But talent alone is not enough: it must be developed, directed, improved. This is why art universities exist, where centuries-old knowledge of clear lines, play of colors, and consistency of style is concentrated.

Despite the fact that in this profession, as in any other creative profession, few manage to establish themselves professionally and become successful, competitions for admission to art universities are traditionally high.

When entering an art school, just like a theater school, you must first prove the presence of talent, which can subsequently manifest itself and surprise the world beautiful paintings. In the 17th century, it took 15 years to become an artist. Today, studying at a university lasts for 5 years, but preparation for admission takes several years. Talented aspiring artists, as a rule, attend from childhood art clubs, children's art schools, graduate from specialized lyceums and schools. Art universities have art schools or preparatory courses where you can study from 6 months to 2 years.

From the very beginning, you need to decide in which direction you will build your career. Art institutes have several faculties:

  • painting;
  • graphics;
  • restoration and technology of painting;
  • sculptures;
  • architecture;
  • animation and multimedia;
  • theory and history of art;
  • design;
  • monumental, decorative and applied art.

When entering an art institute, an applicant must present his creative works: drawing and painting. Those who pass this preliminary stage are allowed to take the entrance creative exams, which take place in the university’s workshops. At the second stage, tasks on:

  • graphite pencil drawing (portrait and figure);
  • painting (portrait with hands, made in oil paints or watercolors);
  • compositions in any technique of your choice.

And only after these creative competitions are the applicant’s Unified State Exam results accepted.

In addition to talent and education, an artist also needs such prosaic qualities as efficiency, communication skills and the ability to find a common language with customers, owners of galleries and museums.

A creation can outlive its creator:
The Creator will leave, defeated by nature,
However, the image he captured
It will warm hearts for centuries.
I live in the hearts of thousands of souls
To all who love, and that means I am not dust,
And mortal decay will not touch me.

Michelangelo
