Full biography

There are numerous legends about Boba Fett's past. According to one of them, reflected in Tales of the Bounty Hunters, Fett was once named Jaster Mereel, and he served as a hired protector (the local name for law enforcement) on the planet Harmonious Dawn ( Concord Dawn). Meryl coped with his duties perfectly, but one fine day he killed his unprincipled bribe-taking colleague. Unrepentant of his actions in court, Jester Meril was sentenced to confiscation of property and exile from his home planet. According to other sources, Fett participated in the Clone Wars and met with R2-D2, C-3PO, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca long before he led Darth Vader to the rebels in Cloud City.

Oddly enough, very few legends tell when and how Fett obtained his powerful Mandalorian armor. The Mandalores were members of a sect of fierce warriors founded more than 4,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. During the clone wars, the Jedi knights inflicted a crushing defeat on them, but some members of the clan could survive. Fett's connection to the Mandalorians remains a mystery, but it is clear that the bounty hunter has put serious effort into improving the armor. The helmet was equipped with macrobinoculars, a broadband antenna, motion and sound sensors, a night vision device and a comlink for communication with Fett's ship Slave I. The wrist gloves contain a flamethrower and lasers, as well as a strong cable used to wrap up victims. Other useful items include studded boots, mini-rocket launchers in knee pads, a grenade launcher and a jetpack with a turbo-ejectable magnetic grapnel and a 20-meter cable. The bounty hunter's favorite weapon is the BlasTech EE-3 blaster rifle.

On his right shoulder, Fett wears Wookiee scalps in a braid. These trophies are a symbol of Fett's hunting prowess, as Wookiees are extremely difficult to track and kill. Fett hopes to add Chewbacca's scalp to his collection, but the Alliance hero escaped this sad fate.

Fett received hundreds of bounties on a variety of creatures, but his biggest hit came when he tracked Han Solo to Cloud City. Since Solo was being hunted by both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt, Fett pocketed money from both. Another gain from this mission was the envy of other bounty hunters, including Bossk and IG-88, who pursued Fett all the way to Jabba's palace, where he delivered Solo's body frozen in carbonite. Fett remained with Jabba until Luke, Leia and Chewbacca, trying to save Solo, fell into the hands of the Hutt. Jabba sentenced the heroes to a slow death in the womb of the Sarlacc, but the birds escaped from the cage. In the resulting fight, Fett attempted to recapture Luke, but the temporarily blinded Han Solo accidentally pushed the hunter into the Sarlacc's throat. Boba Fett would have died there, experiencing unbearable suffering for a thousand years, while the Sarlacc would slowly digest the unfortunate bounty hunter...

However, Boba Fett appears in almost any story that takes place after the Battle of Endor. It is said that he escaped from the Sarlacc's stomach and was found by a good friend, the bounty hunter Dengar. After recovering, Fett resumed his pursuit of Han Solo. His further adventures are described in such sources as Dark Empire, Dark Empire 2 and Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction. Although he has been repeatedly defeated by Han, Chewbacca, and Leia, Fett's obsession continues unabated, and he may one day capture Solo again.

Behind the scenes

Boba Fett originated from early sketches dating back to Darth Vader. Lucas originally intended Vader to be a galactic mercenary and bounty hunter. He eventually evolved into a character more suited to the fallen knight, but Vader's "criminal" side later developed into Boba Fett.

Boba Fett, whose appearance was designed by Ralph McQuarrie, first appeared in the 11-minute animated Star Wars Holiday Special. In this cartoon, Luke Skywalker and his droids go looking for Han Solo and Chewbacca, who have disappeared in search of a mysterious talisman. Luke crashes his Y-wing fighter into one of the moons in the Panna system, and Fett comes to his aid. Together they find the Millennium Falcon, but it soon turns out that Fett is working for Darth Vader. After the fight with Luke, Fett disappears.

After appearing in the Holiday Special and related print, Fett became one of the most anticipated characters in The Empire Strikes Back. ILM put a lot of time and effort into creating Boba Fett's costume for filming. Many of the details were added by Joe Johnston, who also made parts of the suit. Changes to the costume continued to be made even after filming began, and each of them was recorded on film. For example, the first version of Boba Fett's helmet had eye-like markings above the peephole.

English actor Jeremy Bulloch spent about 20 minutes on the set of Empire to put on the Boba Fett costume. Bulloch starred as a bounty hunter in both Empire and Return of the Jedi, but his voice was subsequently dubbed by an American actor. Bobba Fett only speaks four lines in the trilogy.

Boba Fett also appears in the special edition of A New Hope, during the conversation between Han Solo and Jabba the Hutt on Landing Pad 94. The suit was worn by an ILM employee, who was shot against a blue background and carefully inserted into the frame. Several new shots of Fett in Return of the Jedi were taken using the same method.

During the last years of the Republic, Jango Fett was considered the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. He wore a shiny armored helmet that hid the scars on his face. Django was a sharp shooter and a master of hand-to-hand combat, and also always carried an arsenal of weapons with him, including knives in armlets, snares, two blasters and other, more exotic devices.

In battle, Django used a jetpack to gain an advantage in speed and height. Django could also give his enemies an unpleasant surprise by firing a powerful rocket from his backpack. Django traveled across the galaxy on a battered ship, Slave I.

Some time before the start of the Clone Wars, the dark Sith lord Count Dooku contacted Fett and, calling himself Tyranus, invited Jango to become a donor for the clone army that was being created on Kamino. Fett agreed, but also demanded from the Kaminoans one clone without any genetic modifications. He began to raise his clone as if he were his own son and named him Boba.

At the end of his life, Django participated in assassination attempts on Senator Padmé Amidala. Eventually, he was tracked down by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who flew to Fett on Kamino. Django and Boba quickly left the planet and flew to Count Dooku on Geonosis. Soon there was a battle between the Republic and the Separatists, during which Jango Fett was killed by Jedi Master Mace Windu.

Jango Fett is a fictional character from the Star Wars universe. A professional mercenary, a born killer and, formally, the “ancestor” of the clone army of the Galactic Republic.

Jango Fett was born into a family of farmers on the planet Concord Dawn. This planet was located in the Mandalore sector and had long been known for its connections with the Mandalorians. Django's father was the embodiment of law at the local level. When Fett was still very young, the sector was engulfed in civil war; The "true Mandalorians" of Jaster Mereel fought with the renegades of Tor Vizsla's Death Guard. The conflict also affected Fett's homeland; Django's father sheltered Meryl and his people on the planet. The Guardians eventually tracked down the opponents; Thor Vizsla captured Django, attempting to use him as a way to lure Meryl out of hiding. The renegades brutally beat Django's father while trying to find out the whereabouts of the "true" ones. The boy's mother intervened with a well-aimed shot in the face of one of the villains, creating enough noise for Fett to escape; the boy reached Meril, while his parents were killed and his older sister Arla was captured by the Guardians.

With Django's help, Meryl and his men were able to escape to safety. Having lost his family and home, the boy joined the Mandalorians. Fett later managed to take part in one of the "true" counterattacks; During the operation, he met with the enemy soldier who killed his parents - and took revenge on him for the death of his loved ones.

Having become a true Mandalorian, Fett continued to fight as part of Meryl's forces. Everything changed after the Battle of Korda Six; Initially, however, Django did not even suspect how much this seemingly ordinary mission would affect him. Making his debut as squad leader, Fett was to take part in a routine extraction operation. Unfortunately, intelligence greatly let us down - and the “little resistance” turned out to be quite serious. Together with Fett, Meryl himself and his right-hand man Montross took part in the operation. The team that Django and his comrades were supposed to rescue turned out to be an ambush by the Guardians; Tor Vizsla himself was present at the scene. The battle was unsuccessful; Meryl was seriously injured and died in Fett's arms. The death of the man who became his de facto adoptive father was a serious shock. Django, however, managed to carry the body of the late teacher from the battlefield - and successfully took the leadership position, managing to defend it in the conflict with Montross.

As the new leader of the Mandalorians, Fett successfully led them into battle and beyond. A new turning point in his life was the Battle of Galidraan. By order of the local governor, Django suppressed the uprising; in addition to the usual fee, he demanded information about the whereabouts of Tor Vizsla - whom the governor not only hid, but also sponsored. Unfortunately, Vizsla managed to get ahead of Fett; Having entered into an alliance with the governor, he accused Jango's Mandalorians of terrorism and enlisted the support of the Jedi. Fett failed to warn his troops; in the ensuing battle, however, Django managed to do something completely incredible. Unarmed, using only his arms, legs and armor, Fett managed to personally kill 6 Jedi. This, however, did not affect the outcome of the battle - the “true” were destroyed, and Django himself was captured and sold into slavery.

Fett remained in slavery for several years until a lucky break helped him escape. Returning to Galidraan, Jango found his armor and "convinced" the governor to give him Vizsla's sanctuary. Django fought Thor Vizsla personally; The enemy seemed to be able to gain the upper hand with the help of a poisoned blade, but Fett managed to inflict a serious wound on Thor with his blade - and attract the attention of a group of predators. They dealt with Vizsla without touching the “poisonous” Django.

Jango Fett was first shown in the film "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones". When he first appeared, Fett was described as a mercenary who was used as a genetic template to create an entire army of clones. This was all part of a complex, multi-stage plan by the Sith Lords Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus. Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi followed Fett while investigating an attempt on the life of Senator Padmé Amidala. As it turned out later, the murder of Senator Fett was ordered by Viceroy Nute Gunray. Fett did not carry out the assassination attempts personally, transferring the order to the werewolf killer Zam Wesell; she, however, failed to cope with the task - and after two unsuccessful attempts, Fett was forced to liquidate his “subcontractor”. Killed Django's colleague in order to ensure his safety; in a cruel twist of fate, it was the dart he used to kill that led the Jedi to the planet Kamino. It was on Kamino that local clone makers worked on the army and it was here that Jango Fett lived. Along with Django on Kamino was a rather unusual addition to the payment he took from the clone makers for his work; the mercenary asked to make one clone for him personally. The clones that were part of the army were artificially modified; their growth was greatly accelerated, and absolute submission to their superiors was hardwired into their brains. The clone Fett obtained was made to a different specification; he had complete free will and matured at the usual rate. Django named his clone Boba Fett and raised him as his own son.

Obi-Wan's arrival on Kamino ended in open conflict between Jedi and mercenary; An experienced fighter, Jango managed to survive the battle with Kenobi and successfully escape from Kamino. The mercenary left the battlefield for the planet Geonosis - there was his employer, the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus. On Geonosis, Django died, getting involved in a decisive battle with the Jedi. The mercenary had to deal with one wild beast released into the arena and, much worse, with Jedi Master Mace Windu. The jetpack, damaged in the battle with the beast, failed the mercenary - and the Jedi managed to kill him in front of Boba.

In this article you will learn:

Boba Fett is a ruthless bounty hunter, clone, Mandalore from the Star Wars universe. The famous hero first appeared in the movie “Attack of the Clones” as a little clone boy. His history is filled with Legends and only a small part of the Canon (original history).

Boba was created on the planet Kamino around 32 BBY, at the request of Jango Fett ten years before the Clone Wars. Django wanted an heir, which he received in the form of a young boy clone, unlike other clones, which were made exclusively as adults.

The boy grew up under the supervision of Fett, who took care of him as if he were his own son. In addition to Django, Boba was looked after by the hunter Zam Wesell and the Kaminoan Ton Vi, who was considered the boy's adoptive mother.

Boba did not go to school and received most of his knowledge from travel and books. He acquired his fighting skills by training with adult clones.

Little Fett followed his father almost everywhere, who carried out dangerous missions, hired by Darth Tyranus known as.

Attack of the Clones (Canon)

In Attack of the Clones, we first see Boba, played by Daniel Logan.

Boba was about 10 years old when a Jedi arrived on Kamino to investigate the assassination attempt on the Naboo senator (which was committed by Django). Then Kenobi and the Jedi Council learned of the creation of a clone army for the Republic.

Django and Boba urgently left the planet on the ship “Slave 1”. There was also a small battle with the Jedi, which ended in a draw.

Boba and his father went to Geonosis, to their employer Dooku, trying to shake the persistent Kenobi off his tail. On the planet, the mercenary and son witnessed the beginning of the Clone Wars. When Separatists opposing the Republic tried to execute the captured Jedi: Kenobi, as well as Senator Amidala, clone troops invaded Geonosis.

Boba watched his father from afar and saw how the bounty hunter, having fought with the master, was defeated and lost his head. After the battle between the Separatists and the Republic clones left the Arena, Boba was finally able to emerge from hiding and retrieve his father's helmet. He swore revenge on Windu.

“Maybe I would have grown up to be a nice guy if the Jedi hadn’t cut off my father’s head right in front of me!”

Becoming a Bounty Hunter (Legends)

The death of his father came as a shock to young Fett. The boy blamed the Jedi Order, especially Master Windu, for the fact that he was left alone. The desire to get even with the Jedi forced Boba to team up with the bounty hunters Bossk, Aurra Sing and Castas.

To begin with, Boba was introduced into a brigade of young clones who worked together with Anakin Skywalker and Windu, but nothing came of it. All attempts to kill the master ended in failure.

Along with Aurra, Bob was shot down by the Star Destroyer Steadfast., taking hostages and demanding Windu's appearance. When Sing killed Castas's companion, Boba finally saw how cruel she was and repented of what he had done, however, it was already too late, as the Jedi Plo Koon and the Padawan were on Fett's trail.

After Fett's arrest, Kun found out from him the location of the hostages who had been freed by Tano. Along with Bossk, Boba was sent to prison on Coruscant. There, the boy personally met with Windu, to whom he told about his hatred of the master and regret for what he had done.

In 21 BBY, Boba managed to escape from prison. He traveled to Tatooine, where he was recruited by Jabba the Hutt in return for a debt to his father.

In 19 BBY, the hero learned that Windu had died. At the same time, the Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire.

In 15 BBY, Fett decided to start a “normal life”, after which he married the bounty hunter Sintas Vel. The girl gave birth to a daughter from Boba, whom she named Eileen. Unfortunately, Fett had to leave his family.

In 5 BBY, Boba received an order for Han Solo., but he managed to escape.

At this time, the mercenary also carried out some tasks from. Among the orders from the Sith Lord was an investigation into the death of Padmé Amidala.

The Empire Strikes Back (Canon)

The subsequent hunt of the matured Boba was to capture the elusive Han Solo. Fett followed him everywhere until Darth Vader gathered mercenaries who could track the movement of his ship. Boba was the only one who succeeded and Together with Vader, he set a trap for the Falcon on Bespin.

Solo was frozen in carbonite and given to a mercenary by agreement. Finally, the smuggler was caught and Boba went to Tatooine to join Jabba.

For Solo, Fett received 250,000 credits, instead of 100,000.

“Is this little sculpture Han Solo? No. What I brought was art, art created by the Dark Lord who used Solo as material."

The Hutt asked Fett to stay in the palace in case the captain's friends came for him.

Return of the Jedi (Canon)

Boba appeared in the 6th film, where his role was quite small.

As Jabba expected, his friends came to save Khan, and, who were also captured. Princess Leia was given to Boba as a concubine, but Fett refused her due to moral concerns.

Boba stayed behind to execute his friends at the Carkoon Sinkhole, trying to convince Jabba to give Skywalker to him. After the Hutt refused, the mercenary decided to save Luke and then deliver him to Vader.

During the execution, the prisoners managed to free themselves and practically destroy all of Jabba's apprentices, including himself. Boba himself fell into a Sarlacc pit in a fight with Solo and was considered dead.

Afterlife (Legends)

After killing the Sarlacc with a rocket, Boba was saved.

He was in the shadows for a long time, since everyone believed him to be dead, but when an impostor appeared, Boba was forced to appear in order to deal with the scoundrel who had appropriated his name and achievements.

Soon, Fett replaced as head of the Mandalore– Fenna Shisu, on the planet Mandalore.

24 ABY, Boba made a deal with Nom Anor (Yuzhan Vong), not realizing who he really was.

When, in 25 ABY, a bloody war broke out with the Yuuzhan Vong, a previously unknown race, Boba decided not to terminate the treaty and ingratiate himself with the invaders in order to learn their weaknesses. Fett secretly passed information to the New Republic, however, his efforts were not appreciated.

The Mandalorians managed to work for the enemy for a long time, sending information to the Republic, until they were figured out in 29 ABY. Boba, together with his people, managed to conquer such planets as Ord Mantell, Tolatin and Gindin. As a result, the war was ended in victory through joint efforts.

In 40 ABY, when Boba turned 73 years old, he learned that he was seriously ill and had only two years to live. Before Fett died, he decided to find his daughter Eileen and choose a new leader to take his place.

Looking for my daughter Boba was saddened to learn that she had been killed by Han Solo's son -. Now this Jedi has become the number one target for the mercenary. Despite the sad news, Boba found out that he has a granddaughter Mitra Gev, who found him herself and tried to kill him because he abandoned her grandmother and mother. The grandfather and granddaughter, who became a bounty hunter, reconciled, after which they reburied the body of Jango Fett and Eileen on Mandalore.

Soon, Fett was cured with the help of a bone marrow transplant. After learning what was happening to Jacen Solo, who had become a Sith Lord, Fett sent Han a sympathetic gift, hinting at his son.

Together with his granddaughter, Boba found out that his wife Sintas was still alive and returned her to Mandalore. In return for the lost years, Fett gave his wife a pendant that contained all the codes for the hunter's huge property.

After a while, Han's daughter flew to the planet, who wanted to learn from Fett the techniques of killing Jedi, because she wanted to kill her brother Sith.

“Fett, you can teach me how to destroy the Jedi. You did this quite often."

Solo became very friendly with Mythra and helped Fett's Mandalorians in several military operations, becoming their friend in arms. Although Jayna made friends with Boba's people, he treated her strictly and rudely, since he did not see the difference between the Jedi and the Sith.

After Solo's victory over her brother, Fett witnessed the wedding of Mythra, who married the Mandalorian Ges Orade.
