Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation- one of the most famous military bands in the world, created in 1927. The first artistic director of the orchestra was Major General S. Chernetsky, an ascetic of Russian military music. The high academic culture of performance, a carefully selected repertoire, in which priority is given to Russian classical and modern music, the virtuosity and high professionalism of the musicians have become the hallmarks of the orchestra and endeared it to the audience not only in our country, but also in almost all continents of the planet. Such outstanding musicians as Khachaturian, Kozlovsky, Arkhipova, Obraztsova, Oistrakh, Gilels, Dokshitser, Pikaizen, Kobzon, Carreras, Guleghina performed with the orchestra. The orchestra created a golden anthology of Russian military music. These are more than six hundred musical recordings that are stored in the Russian State Archive of Sound Documents. Only in recent years the orchestra has recorded more than ten CDs. In 2010-2012 The orchestra gave several concerts to fund the restoration of the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

Concert Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory was created in September 2007 on the initiative of the People's Artist of the USSR, Professor Gennady Rozhdestvensky and the People's Artist of Russia, Professor Tigran Alikhanov.
