Young musicians from all over the world - Argentina, Italy, China, Russia and other countries. There are eighty people in total, and although they met only five days ago, they have already gotten along well under the guidance of an experienced mentor.

“One day our rehearsal time reached eight hours, which is a lot. But in fact it worked out - from 9 am to 10 pm with breaks for food. The enthusiasm of these young guys, people from different countries from all over the planet, it mixes and becomes truly international,” says conductor and project manager Airat Kashaev.

“I had to look mutual language with foreign participants, but, as they say, the musicians have the same language, and we understand each other and play well together. We feel everything very well,” says orchestra member Tamara Zhukova from Krasnodar.

Creation of an international symphony orchestra during the festival - a new experience. But the responsibility is great reporting concert– right on the main square of the Olympic Park.

And where would we be without sports? It brings together guys from different continents, they understand each other without words. At one of the sites, the results of the flatball championship are being summed up; the game was invented a couple of years ago in Russia. There are only two athletes on the field, you cannot go beyond your three-meter square, and the ball is 10 centimeters. It seems similar to football, but you can’t cross into the opponent’s half of the field.

“You have to protect your goal carefully. Flatball is perfect. You need endless strength, you need intelligence to use your head, so I hope that flatball, in two years, the whole world will know about it,” says Daniel Duro Daini from Nigeria.

The final - and on one of the most beloved and visited sites: the battle of robots. The weight of such a machine is up to 110 kilograms. And each is the participants’ own development, on which the whole team worked. Young roboticists have shown that they are ready for serious projects. Behind the scenes they polish, tighten, reprogram. The Australian team brings out their red spider to fight.

“This robot is controlled by two people at once from two remote controls. One is responsible for the weapon, the other for steering the wheels. There’s no one like him here,” says Miles Blow.

“All it takes is passion. This main secret. My competitors are very strong, including those from Russia – they are quickly gaining momentum,” says Igor Duran from Brazil.

The car driven by a schoolboy from Moscow, Yaroslav Orleansky, won the final battle.

In honor of the large-scale youth forum in the center of the resort, festival participants and Sochi residents opened a new park - Festivalny, next to the famous Arboretum. One of the eucalyptus trees was called the Friendship Tree. It will become a symbol of the unification of everyone who has found like-minded people in Sochi - 30 thousand participants, 30 thousand new friends with whom they want to see again.

“The park is very beautiful, very green. Such a brilliant performance. I hope to visit this place in a year or two and will definitely visit here again,” says the festival guest.

Foreign guests fell in love with Russian motifs - at first they danced, then they could not resist and began to spin in a round dance.

Today is the final day of the festival marathon. Its theme will be Russia. And in the evening - the ceremonial closing of the grandiose forum, which lasted only a week, but will leave impressions for a lifetime.

At the conference at the TASS press center, a rich program of events was announced, the purpose of which is to establish mutual understanding between representatives different cultures and religions. During the week, young people from 150 countries will exchange experiences and become imbued with Russian culture.

What is the festival

70 years ago, in the capital of the Czech Republic, a congress of leaders of youth organizations with a socialist or communist orientation was organized for the first time, and was held under the slogan “For peace and friendship,” to which another component was later added - “imperialist solidarity.” In the 21st century, the organizers of each subsequent event choose a new motto at the preparatory meeting. This year it sounds like this: “For peace, solidarity and social justice, we fight against imperialism - by respecting our past, we are building our future!”

This is the third festival of youth and students for Russia. In 1957, Moscow gathered 34 thousand participants - a record number in history.

It was then that Soviet students became acquainted with rock and roll, jeans and Western values, which so impressed the young Soviet people, that at the subsequent event in 1985, the authorities made every effort to limit the communication of our citizens with foreigners.

In 2017, the organizers tried to think through the festival’s event plan in such a way that young journalists, athletes, engineers, entrepreneurs, representatives creative sphere and programmers, scientists, teachers, as well as leaders of youth organizations and political parties We spent the most effective and interesting time exchanging useful experiences. Students can expect numerous discussions and seminars, concerts, sports competitions, and, of course, large-scale celebrations.

Sochi - beyond competition

In May 2016, in Caracas (Venezuela), at a vote of the festival’s preparatory committee, the decision was unanimously approved to hold the 2017 forum in sunny and hospitable Sochi, since after the 2014 Olympics the city has all the necessary infrastructure corresponding to the scale of the event, which will help significantly save organizational costs. The host party is confident that Sochi will pleasantly surprise the participants and leave an indelible impression in their memory.

Guests will be accommodated in hotels in the Olympic Village. Concerts, exhibitions and lectures will also be organized there. Concerning sporting events, then for their implementation will be used ski resort"Rosa Khutor" (Mountain Cluster).

Goals and themes of the festival

RIGA, Oct 22 - Sputnik, Alexey Stefanov. Saturday was the last day of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students. There were very few lectures and discussions, everyone was waiting for the official closing of the event - they were preparing for two concerts in the Olympic Park. But shortly before they started, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the festival and took part in a discussion on the topic “Youth 2030. Image of the Future.”

Putin: Russia will remain in your heart

The head of Russia sat in the hall with the students, listened to the speeches, and at the end took the floor and said that those who will succeed in the future will be those “who not only have deep knowledge, but are also able to think creatively and work in a team.” About what is scarier atomic bomb could be the creation of a person with given characteristics, since, along with a brilliant mathematician or musician, this “can also be a military man - a person who will fight without fear, feelings of compassion and regret, without pain.” That competitive advantages in the future, those people who not only have a set of interesting and important knowledge, but “creative, planning and other types of thinking” will receive it.

“The future begins here, and the future is you. I am sure that when you leave Russia, you will leave a piece of your heart here. But Russia will always remain in your heart. We believe in you,” Putin concluded.

Russian songs for friends from Africa

In the meantime, the President of Russia was speaking at the Main Media Center, on the open area of Medals Plaza it began great show"Russia". The organizers of the concert thought that in the age of social networks, young people quickly perceive information in this format. Therefore, on huge screens near the stage between performances of groups from all over Russia, correspondence in instant messengers of festival participants, photos from Instagram and videos from YouTube were displayed. But this humorous interruption was, of course, only part of the show program. The main emphasis was on the performance of groups with a national flavor from different corners Russia. And to make it easier for foreigners, and even Russian youth, to navigate where this or that ensemble came from in Sochi, the names of cities appeared on the screens one after another, some of them were described in more detail, after which the name of the federal district appeared.

The youth gathered in the square reacted very vividly to these districts and cities - one could even guess in which exact corner of the Medals Plaza site students from Moscow, Vladikavkaz, Elista, Ryazan or Novosibirsk were located at that moment. And where the foreign youth came from could be understood either by the state flags they wrapped themselves in as they walked around the square, or by the T-shirts and sweatshirts on which the names of cities and countries were written. However, at the end of the show everything got mixed up - the students swapped both flags and clothes. Already in the twilight you could easily see a guy in a sweatshirt." Yaroslavl region“surrounded by friends, and when you get closer you realize that these are representatives of a distant African country.

Under Russian folk choir named after E. Popov, students from China famously danced, and a large round dance accompanied by the performance of the State Academic Kuban Cossack choir with squat dancing organized by students from Africa. And, I must say, they danced very masterfully.

"Friends, now you know what it is to live in Russia in the 21st century, to enjoy modern technologies. We hope that you will soon see all the corners of our country that we showed today with your own eyes!” the presenter’s voice sounded from the speakers, after which he invited all the performers to the stage, and the singer Zara performed the song “Wide is my native country,” which was picked up by the audience .

At number one, the spotlights illuminated the central podium, where musicians and singers gathered this time. But not visiting stars, as was the case during the opening ceremony, but the participants of the Festival of Youth and Students themselves. For the first time in the history of such events, this Music band was formed precisely during the festival. It included talented young people from Russia, China, Argentina, Italy and other countries, and the leadership of the orchestra was taken over by brothers Alexander and Nikita Pozdnyakov, participants of the first season of the Voice competition. "We speak different languages, but we are connected by a common desire to make the world a better place,” said the presenter, after which the speakers who came to Sochi this week began to appear on the screen one after another. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, saxophonist Igor Butman, CEO of the World Fund wildlife(WWF) Marco Lambertini, Russian grandmaster Sergei Karyakin, professional skateboarder Steve Berra, Secretary General of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Fatma Samoura, actor Vladimir Menshov... And then the concert itself began. In between songs, the presenter spoke about the tradition that was established at that very festival in Moscow in 1957, when young poets read their poems. And then he suggested continuing the relay race. Then it was Andrei Voznesensky, Bella Akhmadulina and Bob Dylan, and now Artem Novichenkov, Nika Simonova, Veniamin Borisov and others.

Participant from Brazil Enrique Dominguez gave a heartfelt speech in which he expressed words of gratitude to the organizers and volunteers of the festival. "It was an amazing week. Here in Sochi, I felt the strength of millions of people who live and unite their efforts. I have no doubt that new world will be built by the hands of youth. Nothing ends with us, but just begins. Let’s build our lives together!” he urged.

The head of the directorate for the preparation and conduct of the WFMS, Ksenia Razuvaeva, also thanked the volunteers, who noted that the festival’s volunteer team became “the largest team of volunteers of all non-sporting events in the entire history of the volunteer movement." In their uniform blue clothes, volunteers stood at the foot of the stage at the closing ceremony of the festival, dancing and encouraging the audience to make a live wave in the stands.

In Russia people don't hug bears

One of touching moments the show was a performance by a festival participant, professional musician from Chad Ndoleguloma Jasrabe Herve. He told his story poor family, the desire to grow up and help parents and all the children of Chad, which is why I chose this profession, and also about the young people of the country who have practically no opportunity to access the Internet, about the feeling of loneliness and isolation from the rest of the world. Even the disc with his song, before it got to the festival, Herve had to transfer through several friends so that it would get to Moscow. "We are scattered around the world, but we are united and can solve our problems together. Hello, Russia!" - this is his perky song on native language and became the unofficial anthem of the festival. And the composition was chosen as the official anthem Russian musician, actor and director Alexei Vorobyov.

During the appearance of a UN volunteer on stage and a speech in which she spoke about how she came to Sochi to become one of five thousand volunteers, some conversations swept through the hall, the audience began to turn around and peer at the figure of a man who appeared at the VIP -the grandstand right next to the dome. It turned out that Vladimir Zhirinovsky came to watch the closing of the festival, although at first it looked like he had come to Sochi to show himself - he stood for a long time and waved his hands to everyone. And even the volunteers near the stage responded in kind. Because of this, the performance of the foreign participant turned out to be a little blurry. However, with the first chords of the next hit, they forgot about the politician.

It was interesting to listen and short interviews with participants from European, Asian and African countries, shown on screens. The delegates were sincerely surprised that in Russia “there are no stern, healthy men in earflaps” who “walk around hugging polar bears”, that everywhere is not gloomy and dirty, but clean and cultured, and that the Hollywood image of Russians is completely untrue .

And the concert ended with Leonard Cohen's song "Hallelujah", the audience sadly began to leave the ice arena, but another small surprise awaited them on the street. On open stage Medals Plaza hosted another disco concert, which ended at midnight with a grandiose festive fireworks display.
