Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation- one of the most famous military bands in the world, created in 1927. The first artistic director of the orchestra was the devotee of Russian military music, Major General S. Chernetsky. A high academic culture of performance, a carefully selected repertoire in which priority is given to Russian classical and modern music, virtuosity and high professionalism of the musicians have become the hallmarks of the orchestra and have endeared it to the audience not only in our country, but also in almost all continents of the planet. Such outstanding musicians as Khachaturian, Kozlovsky, Arkhipova, Obraztsova, Oistrakh, Gilels, Dokshitser, Pikaizen, Kobzon, Carreras, Gulegina performed with the orchestra. The orchestra has created a golden anthology of Russian military music. These are more than six hundred musical recordings that are stored in the Russian State Archive of Phonological Documents.
