BTS (Bangtan Boys, also known as Beyond The Scene) is a Korean K-pop group that is popular among young audiences around the world. The team consists of seven nice guys, whose culture and consciousness were formed under the influence of social networks, with the help of which the boy band “Bulletproof Scouts” loudly declared itself in 2013.

History of creation

Famous South Korean entertainment company Big Hit Entertainment approached the creation of the team scrupulously and, by the standards of world show business, slowly. Since 2010, producers have been recruiting candidates, simultaneously creating a fan cafe long before BTS made their public debut. Initially, the project was conceived as a duet of RM (Rap Monster, real name Kim Nam Joon) and Iron (never entered the group, performed in Show Me The Money), but in the process of casting and auditions it was decided to change the concept to a boy band with a large number of participants.

The formation of the group lasted almost three years, during which the composition was constantly modified and trained. The core of BTS was formed only in 2012. The members of BangTan Boys are: Rap Monster, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jungkook, Jimin. Unlike his colleagues, Jimin completed his internship in just a year, perhaps because he was the last to join the group. The remaining participants underwent a three-year probationary period.

As trainees (students), the guys themselves composed about a hundred tracks (if rumors are to be believed), and six months before their official debut on stage, they became active users of social networks, posting their compositions on YouTube.

PR using Twitter and presenting songs on the Internet are only part of the campaign invented by the producers. For example, there was also a news channel they made up that actively promoted a parody show starring the BangTan Boys members.

The creativity of BTS is distinguished by the content of its lyrics, which, as stated in the press, are written by the guys themselves. The music for them, the arrangement and production of the numbers is also the work of RM, Suga and J-Hope. It is worth noting that the group sings in both Korean and Japanese.

The main stages of creativity

2013

The guys remade their debut song “No More Dream” more than twenty times, trying to achieve the ideal. Before the group’s first official performance, clips for the tracks “School of Tears” and “Scout Graduation” appeared online - this was how the audience got to know the future stars of k-pop.

The end of the year was marked by the “2014 BTS Live Trilogy – Episode II: The Red Bullet” tour, during which the seven “bulletproof scouts” were met by the Philippines and Singapore, Japan and Malaysia, Thailand and their native Korea.

The song “Dope” from the album gains more than a million views on YouTube in just 12 hours and takes third place in the main American chart Billboard.

This year was also memorable for the guys with a large-scale tour of Australia, Latin America, Malaysia, and the USA. In the fall, it is announced that BTS will represent the sports brand Puma at international arena. BTS wins Mnet Asian Music Awards for Best International Act.

2016

Goes on sale in the fall new album in Japanese “YOUTH”, which immediately takes first place on the Japanese charts and sells like hot cakes: 44 thousand copies of the album were sold out in just one day.

Another studio album WINGS is making waves in Korea. The video for the track from the disc “Blood Sweat & Tears” gains more than 6 million views on YouTube in 24 hours. The number of copies of the disc totals over half a million. For the first time in music history, a Korean album enters the UK album chart.

Korean music is no longer a purely Korean affair; it has long been a global phenomenon. Groups and solo artists from South Korea with huge armies of fans around the world they become influencers. It is customary to take them into account and pay special attention to them. BTS is just such a case.

BTS (aka Bangtan Sonyeondan and Beyond The Scene) is one of the most successful and popular Korean groups. Coming from a little-known production company, they have earned their place in the sun in the K-pop industry, surprising everyone with their potential and success. On this moment The group has an impressive track record: in addition to large quantity Korean music awards, the artists boast a seventh-place finish on the prestigious Billboard 200 music chart with their recent album Love Yourself: Her, making them the first-ever Asian artist to achieve such a high position.

Popular

Their singles DNA and MIC DROP also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and were certified gold by the RIAA. Another trophy from Billboard is Top Social Artist (a category in which fans vote), previously won by Justin Bieber for six years in a row. In addition to their musical merits, the artists collaborate with UNICEF, speaking out against violence against children and adolescents. They are also officials of Puma, LG and Lotte.

A combination of powerful songs, strong choreography, lyrics encouraging you to love yourself and move towards your dreams, and the personal qualities of the participants help you to feel inspired by their creativity. In general, the guys are talented and in demand. It’s also worth noting that they are fashionable. Therefore, I think it will be interesting to consider their style - not stage, but personal, to which the stylists did not have a hand.

Let's start the analysis with three participants who are most interested in fashion.

RM - Kim Namjoon

Kim Namjoon is the leader, rapper and philosopher of the group. A deep thinker finds beauty in the ordinary and can be inspired to think deeply by the most ordinary things. And this shows in his unique style as an intellectual. Muted and simple colors (beige, khaki and gray) combined with denim, baggy outerwear, beanies and comfortable oversized hoodies. At first glance it is relaxed and simple, but in his images everything is very neat and there is a sense of order. This creates a balanced style with a unique twist. This style, as well as his life’s occupation—music—became his main tools of self-expression. By the way, this path of self-expression dates back to middle school, when Namjoon began looking for and ordering clothes online.

Namjoon really loves Japanese stripstyle, which is recognized as one of the main sources of inspiration. Like many of us, he does his research by looking at photos from the streets of Tokyo and gets new ideas for his future looks. Hence the urban aesthetics in his style. But, in addition to street aesthetics, he is, of course, inspired by Japanese fashion itself - his favorite brands are mainly from the land of the rising sun: WTAPS, Neighborhood and Yoji Yamamoto.

Yamamoto stands alone on the list of artists, and this is not surprising, since he is one of the fashion philosophers who promotes the imperfect art of “wabi-sabi” and advocates monochrome, modesty, simplicity and loose fit in clothes. All this fits Namjoon’s worldview and style. Namjoon also eagerly shares his fashion adventures on the group's Twitter under the hashtag 김데일리(KimDaily). It is easy to follow the transformations of his style there. Laconic multi-layered outfits in neutral colors, where the emphasis is often on a light or bright element of the look - this could be a scarf or a T-shirt. You can also notice that recently the artist appears more often in clothes from the Japanese brand Visvim. In addition, Namjoon, like many Koreans, is a fan of cropped trousers. In his case, it's often old-school jeans
90s style cut.

A fan of urban minimalism with the spirit of Japanese street style, Namjoon is a bright representative of the laconic Korean style. The artist is also an example of the fact that a fashionista is not a superficial person, and being a fashionable intellectual is very cool!

J-Hope - Jung Hoseok

The group's main dancer and rapper, Hoseok, is not only a master of choreography, but also a radiant source of energy for his bandmates and their fans. A person who fills any room he enters with his light and positivity definitely has a special way of expressing himself through clothes.
It's quite difficult to describe Hoseok's Energizer Man style because it's very reminiscent of a roller coaster. One day he's sporting all black, the next he's wearing more than two prints in loud colors. He also easily switches from an airport look of sweatpants, a T-shirt and sandals to a rock 'n' roll leather jacket and ripped jeans.

Hoseok sticks to simple silhouettes, but doesn't miss the opportunity to play with prints and colors. Even when he’s not in the mood for colorfulness, he always leaves room for color in his outfit, be it a scarf, bucket hats or glasses with red lenses. The background of an underground dancer also makes itself felt; in his looks, things inspired by hip-hop aesthetics slip in every now and then.

But more often his look consists of a beanie tucked into tight ripped jeans and a T-shirt, and as an accent he can choose, for example, a floral bomber jacket or a bright sweater. His interest in fashion and willingness to experiment are, of course, reflected in his style. Hoseok tries to follow trends, adapting them to suit himself and adding his own bright personality. Therefore, he often chooses bright and unusual combinations, not being afraid to combine more than one print in an image. Most likely, it would look out of place on another person, but Hoseok somehow manages to do it. This is probably because it goes with his bright and friendly personality. Hoseok’s love for adventure dates back to his childhood, when he read the novels of Jules Verne, and it was eventually reflected not only in his lifestyle, but also in his fashion preferences. In fashion, he plays freely and paints his images in bright and rich colors. His positive energy can be felt a mile away and through the screens of TVs, laptops and other gadgets, and his style, in turn, only emphasizes this positive aura.

V - Kim Taehyung

The vocalist of the group and part-time flower child is the most beautiful face of 2017 according to TC Candler. Kim Taehyung is an emerging style icon, and now I'll tell you why. Taehyung is known for his very peculiar taste, which people once laughed at. But over time, his fashionable signature became his signature. No matter what he wears, we can say with confidence that everything will look harmonious and really cool on him.

What makes his style special? His freedom: oversized styles, knitted culottes, cozy sweaters and absolute freedom of stylistic decisions. For example, during the group’s American performances, Taehyung showed up for one of the interviews in Burberry pajamas and a denim jacket - chic and a whole new level of relaxed fashion.

This relaxed style of dressing coexists with Taehyung's fashionable fashion alter ego, who is no stranger to a love of expensive brands (I think it's worth noting that most of the branded items that BTS wear are gifts from the musicians' fan clubs). The BTS member is known for his love of Gucci and seems to have spread that love to his bandmates and stylists. Singers began to appear even more often on stage and in videos wearing colorful clothes from the Italian brand. Taehyung has mastered the skill of masterfully combining items from this brand, without fear of pretentiousness. Wearing a shirt with the fashion house’s signature red snake and complementing the look with a bag with the same appliqué is no problem for him.

Taehyung has also become a fan of the popular fur mules and wears them all the time. Look no further for such a dedicated fashionista! I think Alessandro Michele and his team should pay attention to such a promising and influential ambassador who shows genuine interest in the designer’s creations.

By the way, Kim Taehyung is not only a gifted singer and fashionista, but also an old-school romantic soul who loves trot (the progenitor of modern Korean pop music), is inspired by the melodramas and costumes of Domhnall Gleeson in Future Boyfriend, loves Van Gogh and the art of photography. His creative soul certainly comes through in his style. For example, in his affinity for coats and his special love for berets, which add softness to the image. The result is a real image of the artist. Of course, with all this set, it was impossible not to do without vintage. Taehyung loves to wear glasses, but in addition to the round glasses popular in South Korea, he often wears vintage aviators. Taehyung is an example of fashion courage and the desire to experiment and open new stylistic horizons and combinations. He mixes elegance and simplicity with ease, balancing between relaxed and extremely fashionable, and does not burden himself with thoughts about how people will perceive his experiments. As the singer himself said, he dresses for himself. Taehyung listens to his fashion intuition instead of following
trends.

Every year more and more worthy musical groups of various genres appear in Asia. South Korean creativity is quite popular in our country. There are a lot of bands there that play quite unconventional and high-quality music.

Unlike monotonous European groups, representatives of South Korea try to create their own unique style, which in the end they succeed very well. They are equally good in pop music and rock. However, among them there is one absolutely wonderful group that managed to destroy all stereotypes and become a group that is able to play music in the hip-hop genre on a par with their Western counterparts.

This one is called talented group BTS. Her biography is incredibly interesting. Next we will focus on a few special important stages her work, and we will also tell you in detail about each of its participants.

So, let's repeat that BTS is a Korean group. The names of the current members are as follows:

  • Rap Monster - leader, rapper;
  • Chin is the face of the group, vocalist;
  • Suga - composer, rapper;
  • J-Hope - main dancer, rapper;
  • Jimin - dancer, vocalist;
  • V - vocalist;
  • Jungkook is a vocalist, dancer, sub-rapper.

Start

The team was formed back in 2011, when a selection of talented young performers was underway throughout the country. The first two BTS members taken during one of the auditions at the largest Korean studio.

Many future performers at that time had only recently turned eighteen years old, but thanks to perseverance and talent, they easily managed to get to the very top in a matter of months and prove to labels that they were truly talented.

It began to take shape closer to 2012, when an underground performer known in narrow circles, nicknamed Rap Monster, became its leader. By that time, he already had serious experience in performing, as well as several released tracks. Overnight he became the most bright participant group, and was also highlighted.

Moreover, as a leader, he began to write most of the lyrics for the group, as well as organize the show. Although he is far from the oldest member of BTS, Rap Monster is by far the most colorful personality and a fan favorite. He is the idol of millions of listeners from all over the world, inspiring each of them to various achievements and self-improvement.

So we can say with complete confidence that the composition of the BTS group would not be so bright without the named member. Next, J-Hope, the main dancer of the group, joined the lineup. He had incredible talent, and Korean studios quickly noticed this. Before joining BTS, he performed in a street dance gang and achieved considerable success with it.

J-Hope very quickly found a common language with the rest of the group and became one of the key figures. One of the most important factors The reason why he was taken into the team was his long-standing acquaintance with the Rap Monster, with whom he had already performed several times. There was a real friendship between them, the guys Hard time supported, and on stage complemented each other perfectly. So no one had any doubt that J-Hope should be taken into the BTS group.

Music

Suga is another talented person. This young performer has long established himself as a great arranger. He not only had an excellent voice, but also an excellent one, which, you see, is important. He easily created catchy beats, without which it is impossible to compose truly hit hip-hop songs.

He quickly became friends with the two leaders of BTS - J-Hope and Rap Monster, becoming an integral part of the friendly crowd. Now it’s hard to imagine BTS without this amazing musician. The group owes much of its sudden success to him. Since joining, he has written music for almost all BTS songs, so he can rightfully be considered one of the most important links in the group.

Jungkook is the youngest member of the group. He was the last to join BTS, but despite his age, he quickly attracted public attention. Not only was he good on the mic, but he could also dance like J-Hope.

Success

Bright personalities could not help but make BTS famous. The Korean group, the biography of each member of which is now inextricably linked with the stage, was able to achieve success only by becoming Friendly team. Now they are one of the best boy bands of our time. His success was guaranteed from the very beginning, because the guys had everything they needed to create a popular group - talent, persistence and a memorable image.

BTS - Korean group: composition and its change

Later other musicians joined the band. And when the lineup was finally formed, it was time for a full-fledged debut. But, unfortunately, they were not able to do this right away. As with many young groups, disagreements began, resulting in two members leaving BTS.

Of the nine musicians, only seven remained, but this did not stop them from continuing their activities. After two years of preparation, they gained serious experience and were ready to prove themselves in public. This happened in 2013. It is worth noting that this year has been very successful for the group. In addition to live performances, they managed to release debut single, which quickly entered the country's top charts and was highly appreciated by both music lovers and professional critics. The disc was called 2 Cool 4 Skool and contained seven excellent tracks. The most successful song in the album is considered to be the composition called No more dream.

In June of the same year, a music video was shot for it, which did not leave TV screens for a long time, regularly broadcast on numerous Korean music channels. By that time, BTS had finally secured the title of the best young group in the country.

For the group BTS (you can see photos of the participants with names in the article), their first major success was their performance at the popular M festival! Countdown, where the group performed the above-mentioned hit No more dream, which to this day is considered one of the main works of the group.

Later, on the wave of success, a video was shot for a song called We Are Bulletproof Pt.2. All this ultimately led to the fact that the group was recognized as the best young performers in the country and received a lot of prestigious awards.

Combination of cultures

Unlike many other Asian groups, BTS prefer to perform their music in English. Each of the band's musicians speaks it perfectly, so during listening you won't hear even a hint of an accent. But, besides this, the guys skillfully mix English and Korean in their lyrics, which ultimately gives them an original and unusual sound.

Tour

With the advent of 2014, the group's success only increased. BTS released another mini-album, the sales of which exceeded all possible expectations. In just a year, the group members became stars who were invited to perform at the country's largest music arenas.

It's time to go on my first really big tour. These were shows on a global scale, and the army of fans grew every day.

There are more and more fans

Having achieved recognition in their homeland, the guys decided to try their hand abroad. And for good reason, because in Europe a sharp rise in their popularity became noticeable, which was greatly facilitated by the talented composition of the group. BTS, with a photo of seven attractive guys, has acquired a large number of fans in various parts of the world, including Russia.

Conclusion

These days, the group is still as popular and clearly has no plans to slow down. New compositions are among the most different tops, and a recent hit called Fire even made it into the top twenty most popular in the history of iTunes. The video for this song managed to collect 4 million views on the Internet in two days. So we recommend that all connoisseurs of good music familiarize themselves with the work of BTS.
