In April 2016, the Ministry of Culture Russian Federation and the State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO" are launching the project "A meeting place with art." Over nine months, three teams of enthusiastic art historians - the best students of Moscow State Pedagogical University - will introduce residents of 29 small and medium-sized cities of Russia to the works of Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Alexander Deineka, Isaac Brodsky, Pyotr Konchalovsky, Yuri Pimenov, Mikhail Steiner, Mitrofan Grekov, Alexander Laktionov and others Soviet artists. The project is being implemented with the participation of the Russian Museum, Moscow State pedagogical university and Russian Post.

Participants in the educational landing are preparing fascinating video lectures and interactive excursions designed to reach 100 thousand people in 11 regions of Russia. Young Moscow art historians and teachers, passionate about progressive methods of working with audiences, will travel to Komi, the Republics of Crimea and Buryatia, the Rostov and Amur regions, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Altai, Primorsky and Khabarovsk territories.

Free educational modules, adapted for schoolchildren and students, pensioners and children in orphanages, will teach you to understand artistic issues 1920 – 1940s, analyze the features of style and plot, color and composition, interpret various details in context key events era and personality of the artist, feel the mood of the time, find secret meanings in scenes of military heroism, labor feats, sporting achievements and solitary serenity.

The mobile collection of educational tools will include high-quality reproductions of 27 works. " Morning work-out"(1932), "Defense of Sevastopol" (1942) and "Razdolie" (1944) by Deineka, "After the Battle" (1923) and "Spring" (1935) by Petrov-Vodkin, "Installation of the Workshop" (1932) by Williams, "Letter from the front" (1947) Laktionova, "Alexander Nevsky" (1942) Korina, "Women Radio Operators" (1930) Bri-Bain and many other legendary images will take up residence in local cultural centers for several weeks in anticipation of the most important recipients - all those who never left hometown, to visit capital museums.

MSGU students prepare a lot interesting stories and no less interesting questions for visitors to the project in collaboration with leading specialists from ROSIZO and the Russian Museum. Visitors will learn that Marshal Voroshilov was a close friend of Isaac Brodsky and offered the artist a completely unheroic subject for his own portrait - skiing in the forest near Moscow. Mikhail Grekov found a sufficient dose of optimism, light and freshness for the painting “Trumpeters of the First Horse” in the air of the Crimean spring , and Pyotr Konchalovsky called terrible scandal, having painted a portrait of Alexei Tolstoy - during the heyday of “proletarian culture”, he risked emphasizing the connection of the “red count” with the classics of pre-revolutionary Russia, placing on the hero’s table a rare vodka bottle, marked with the date “1799” - the year of Pushkin’s birth.

The youngest participants of educational programs - teenagers 10-13 and 14-15 years old - will have an interregional drawing competition "My Country" with the opportunity to win a trip to the Artek International Children's Center. The winners' works will be included in the exhibits at the exhibition in Moscow, along with children's drawings of the 19th century from the collections of Russian museums.

The large-scale project is supported by the federal postal operator - Russian Post. To deliver reproductions to participating cities, total weight which reaches one and a half tons, routes with a length of more than 45 thousand kilometers are organized. Transportation will involve 20 railway cars and more than 35 cars.

From the project description

There is a competition as a separate bonus children's drawing"My picture". A competition is held in every city, the winners are presented with vouchers to Artek (for classes under a special program in art groups). And they offer to exhibit their paintings in the State Kremlin Palace along with children's drawings of the 19th century from the collections of Russian museums.

That's it with the program. Let us only note that such large (and free) exhibitions are rarely held “on the outskirts and in the outback,” so the participants’ reviews are appropriate: “ Finally exhibitions began to come here”, “ I've seen enough, enjoyed it, was inspired", "Today touched great" and other pleasant things. If you also want to touch, check the schedule.

The All-Russian project “A Meeting Place with Art” is an educational and educational initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the ROSIZO Museum and Exhibition Center, which was successfully held in 29 small and medium-sized cities of Russia in 2016 and continues its triumphant march across the country, covering another 12 new regional destinations in 2017.

The large-scale project is being implemented with the participation of the Russian Museum, the Moscow Pedagogical state university, Institute art education and cultural experts from RAO and Russian Post. Since April 2016, residents of Russian cities have become acquainted with the key works of Alexander Deineka and Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Alexander Laktionov and other Soviet artists of the 1920s-40s.

The goal of the “Meeting Place with Art” project is to provide an opportunity to meet art for residents of remote corners of Russia from the center, who cannot visit the country’s leading museums due to geographical distance, and where, due to the peculiarities of transportation and exhibition, masterpieces of painting cannot reach. The organizers aim to provide decent cultural leisure for Russians from Yalta to Leninsk-Kuznetsky, and using the example of the Soviet visual arts teach residents Russian cities understand the works of artists by talking about their work in accessible language.

To the fund traveling exhibition included high-precision full-size copies of paintings Soviet masters, whose textbook works tell about turning points in the history of our country: “Meeting of the Heroic Crew” by Pyotr Maltsev, “Defense of Sevastopol” (1942) by Alexander Deineka, “After the Battle” (1923) by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, “Erection of the Workshop” (1932) Peter Williams, “Letter from the Front” (1947) by Alexander Laktionov, “Alexander Nevsky” (1942) by Pavel Korin, “Women Radio Operators” (1930) by Maria Bri-Bain. Reproductions were created in St. Petersburg specifically for the project. The organizing team tried to do everything possible to ensure that they matched the originals as closely as possible - the image was applied to a primed canvas using a unique technology, observing color nuances and preserving the texture of the painterly stroke. For this purpose, up to 40 precise photographs of each work were taken.

An educational project is not only a meeting place with art, but also a meeting place with history. After all, the presented works can be “read” and clearly seen only through the prism historical facts from the life of the country, turning points in its history. If the viewer is not familiar with them, the paintings are silent and keep their secrets. The task of the “Meeting Places with Art” team is to give the key to understanding historically important works and the opportunity to see them with fresh eyes, outside of boring templates and stereotypes.

The best students of the Institute of Arts of the Moscow Pedagogical State University, future professionals in the field of culture, will conduct interactive excursions using materials prepared by ROSIZO specialists. At the exhibitions, video lectures will be shown daily, recorded for the project by art historians of the Russian Museum, in order to immerse the viewer in the socio-historical context of the creation of works.

Young participants of the project - teenagers 10-12 and 13-15 years old - will again enjoy the interregional drawing competition “My Picture”. For both age groups a unique master class program has been developed: children are asked to write a short essay explaining future picture, and then convey your story as artistic image. The finalists, as last year, will go to thematic sessions at the Artek International Children's Center, and the result of the competition will be an exhibition of the winning projects in Moscow.

The large-scale project “A meeting place with art” has been supported by Russian Post for the second year. The federal postal operator carries out a responsible task, delivering reproductions and additional equipment with a total weight of more than fourteen tons along specially organized routes with a length of more than 23 thousand kilometers. 4 railway cars and more than 30 cars are involved in transporting exhibition exhibits.

The goal of the federal project “Meeting Place with Art” is to provide an opportunity to encounter art for residents of remote corners of Russia. The organizers set their goal, using the example of Soviet fine art, to help residents of Russian cities learn to understand the works of artists by talking about their work in an accessible language.

The initiative is being implemented with the participation of the Russian Museum, the Institute fine arts Moscow Pedagogical State University, Institute of Art Education and Cultural Studies of the Russian Academy of Education, Russian Post and International children's center"Artek". The project was successfully held in 53 small and medium-sized cities of Russia and continues to march across the country, this year covering another 9 new regional areas. The duration of the project in Yelabuga will be 19 days: during this time there will be an exhibition and an educational program for adults and children.

The traveling exhibition fund includes high-precision full-size reproductions of paintings by Soviet masters telling about turning points in the history of our country: “Meeting of the Heroic Crew” by Pyotr Maltsev, “Defense of Sevastopol” by Alexander Deineka, “After the Battle” by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, “Erection of the Workshop” by Pyotr Williams, “Letter from the Front” by Alexander Laktionov, “Women Radio Operators” by Maria Bri-Bain. The reproductions were created in St. Petersburg specifically for the project - the image was applied to a primed canvas using a unique technology, observing color nuances and preserving the texture of the painterly brushstroke. To recreate one work, up to 40 precise photographs of each painting were taken.

Alexandra Grebennikova, a student at the Institute of Fine Arts of the Moscow Pedagogical State University, will act as a consultant and guide to the exhibition. She will conduct interactive excursions and show video lectures recorded for the project by art historians of the Russian Museum, thereby immersing the viewer in the socio-historical context of the creation of the works.

The interregional drawing competition “My Picture Speaks” awaits the young participants of the project. A unique program of master classes has been developed: children are invited to write a short essay explaining the future painting, and then convey their story in the form of an artistic image. The finalists, as last year, will go to thematic sessions at Artek, and the result of the competition will be an exhibition of the winning projects in Moscow.
